What is a Smart Watch eSIM Add-on?

The Smart Watch eSIM Add-on, also known as a Wearable eSIM, lets you extend your existing mobile plan to your compatible Apple watch or Samsung Galaxy smart watch. This means your watch has the same number and shares the inclusions in your phone plan.

Whether you're using an Apple Watch eSIM, an eSIM for Galaxy Watch, or a Galaxy Ultra Watch eSIM, you can leave your phone at home and still stay connected for calls, data, and notifications, all from your smart watch with a Smart Watch eSIM.

Important Note: To activate a Smart Watch eSIM Add-on, the technology requires your phone and smart watch to be from the same ecosystem. Therefore, you'll need to pair an iPhone with an Apple Watch, or a Samsung Galaxy phone with a Samsung Galaxy Watch to use this service.
 

Before and after you connect your smart watch.

Getting your wearable device connected should be simple. Before you start, go through the checklist below to ensure a smooth setup.


Before Activation. Things to check.

Ensure you have an eSIM compatible smartphone and smartwatch. You’ll also need to ensure that your devices are paired within the same eco system. Refer to the supported devices for eSIM section below for a detailed list of devices.
Before you begin, ensure both your smartphone and your smartwatch are updated to the latest software versions. This is essential for compatibility.
Keep your Everyday mobile number and password handy. You will need to enter these manually during setup, and they won't be auto filled from an app.
If your watch was previously connected to another provider, you must remove the old mobile plan from your watch settings before attempting to connect to our service.
Some watches have mobile networks turned off by default. To prevent connection issues, first check that the mobile network setting on your smartwatch is enabled.
- On a Samsung Galaxy Watch, you may need to go to Settings, find 'Mobile Networks', and change it to 'Auto' or 'Always On'.
- For an Apple Watch, you'll need to follow the on screen instructions during setup to ensure your mobile plan is active.

After Activation. Things to know.

Be patient. While activation is often instant, it can take anywhere from 5 to 30 minutes for your watch to fully connect to the network for the first time.

If you are still not connected after this time, try restarting both your watch and your paired phone.
Our network does not support standard SMS or MMS directly on your watch without your phone nearby.  However, you can still use messaging apps that use mobile data, such as iMessage, Whatsapp and Facebook Messenger to send and receive messages.
Your watch battery may be used more quickly now that it is connecting to our mobile network. This is normal behaviour for network enabled smartwatches.

How to activate your Smart Watch eSIM.


To purchase your Smart Watch eSIM Add-on, you'll need to be on an eligible $40, $50, or $60 5G SIM Only plan. Check your plan with Everyday Mobile via My Account or the Everyday Mobile app..

without an Everyday Mobile plan.

Find your current plan details via My Account or the Everyday Mobile app.

  1. Sign Up. If you are new to Everyday Mobile, purchase and activate on an Everyday Mobile SIM Only 5G plan.
  2. Activate. Once activated, go to Apples 'Watch' app or Androids 'Galaxy Wearable' app or similar on your mobile phone. Select ‘Add Mobile Plan’ or similar.
  3. Compete. Following the on-screen instructions.

 Existing Customers

You're good to go! You can purchase and setup the Smart Watch eSIM Add-on as follows:

  1. Open the 'Watch' or 'Galaxy Wearable' app on your mobile phone.
  2. Select 'Add Mobile Plan'.
  3. Follow the instructions that appear on your phone's screen to finish setting up the eSIM on your smartwatch.

How do I change my existing SIM Only plan to a current SIM Only Plan?

Using the Everyday Mobile App  

  1. Select your current SIM Only mobile number.
  2. Tap the "Options" tab at the bottom right.
  3. Tap "Plan" under "SERVICE OPTIONS".
  4. Tap "Change Plan".
  5. Find the $40, $50, or $60 5G SIM Only plan, tap "Select", and follow the on-screen steps to change your plan.

  2. Select "My Account" from the top right corner (under your name).
  3. Select "Plan Options" from the list.
  4. Find the $40, $50, or $60 5G SIM Only plan, select it, click "Confirm", and follow the on-screen steps to change your plan.

I am on a Prepaid (30 day or Long Expiry) or Phone Plan. How do I change my plan to a current SIM Only plan?

  1. Choose a $40, $50, or $60 Everyday Mobile SIM Only 5G plan and select ‘Buy now’.
  2. In the cart, select between a Physical SIM Card or eSIM, agree to our T&Cs, and click ‘Confirm Order’.
  3. Log in as a ‘Returning Customer’ by entering your existing Everyday Mobile username and password (you will also need to complete a 2-Step Verification).
  4. If changing from Prepaid: Choose your existing Prepaid plan you want to change to SIM Only and select ‘Contract this service’.
  5. If changing from a Phone Plan: Choose your existing Phone Plan you want to change to SIM Only and select ‘Recontract this service’.
  6. Follow the prompts to complete your SIM Only plan purchase.

Yes, the Smart Watch eSIM Add-on allows your smart watch to use the same mobile number as your Everyday Mobile plan. This means when someone calls your mobile number, both your phone and your smart watch will ring. When you make a call from your watch, the person you are calling will see your regular mobile number.
No, the Smart Watch eSIM Add-on will be linked to your Everyday Mobile plan. However, there will be an additional cost to access this add-on each month.
The current pricing of the Smart Watch eSIM Add-on is $10 per month. This will appear on your monthly invoice as an additional charge along with the cost of mobile plan.
Yes, the mobile data used by your smart watch through the Smart Watch eSIM Add-on will come out of the data allowance of your Everyday Mobile plan.
You can only have one Smart Watch eSIM Add-on linked per Everyday Mobile SIM Only 5G plan. Note: You’ll need to disconnect any mobile connections on your smart watch from your previous service provider before connecting your Smart Watch eSIM Add-on.
To activate the eSIM Smart Watch Add-on on your Galaxy Watch 4, open the ‘Galaxy Wearable’ app on your Samsung phone. Tap ‘Mobile plans’, then follow the prompts to connect your watch to your Everyday Mobile plan. There are a selection of Samsung Galaxy watches and mobile phones that are eligible for the eSIM Smart Watch Add-on. Check your phone and watch both meet the eligibility requirements.
The activation process usually takes a few minutes to complete through the ‘Watch’ or ‘Galaxy Wearable’ app on your mobile phone. Allow some time for the eSIM to be successfully downloaded.
Yes, you’ll need your mobile phone to be connected to your smart watch via Bluetooth during the initial setup and activation process of the Smart Watch eSIM Add-on.
No, the Smart Watch eSIM Add-on is for use in Australia only and won't support calls or data overseas. However, if your smart watch has Wi-Fi, you may be able to connect to Wi-Fi networks for some functions like receiving notifications (if your phone is also connected) and using Wi-Fi-based apps.
Our network does not support standard SMS or MMS directly on your watch without your phone nearby.  However, you can still use messaging apps that use mobile data, such as iMessage, Whatsapp and Facebook Messenger to send and receive messages.
Ensure that:
  • - Your smart watch is a cellular-enabled model that supports eSIM.

If you still don't see the option, you may be using a smart watch that does not support the Everyday Mobile Smart Watch eSIM Add-on. You can check if your smart watch is eligible at the Supported devices for eSIM.
Try the following steps:
  • - Ensure that cellular is enabled in your smart watch settings.
  • - Restart your smart watch.
  • - Make sure your smart watch has good network coverage in your area.
  • - On your paired phone, check that your Everyday Mobile SIM Only 5G plan is active and in good standing.
  • - If the issue persists, try turning airplane mode on your smart watch for a few seconds and then turning it off again.
This usually indicates that the eSIM profile is not active or there is an issue with the connection. Restart your smart watch. If the problem continues, you may need to reactivate the Smart Watch eSIM Add-on through the ‘Watch’ app on your mobile phone.

Eligible device and plan.

You need to have an eligible Everyday Mobile plan, a compatible mobile device and a compatible connected smart watch with selected operating systems to take up the Smart Watch eSIM Add-on. For information on eligible plans and compatibility, view the Smart Watch eSIM Add-on page.

Maximum of 1 connected smart watch per service.
Only one (1) smart watch can be connected to your eligible Everyday Mobile plan at any time.

Usage.
All calls or data used on your smart watch over the Telstra Wholesale network will count towards your Everyday Mobile plan’s monthly usage and charges and will be consumed from your primary mobile service inclusions.

Coverage and International Roaming.
Coverage availability will vary depending on your mobile device, smart watch and location. Your Smart Watch eSIM Add-on will only have mobile network connectivity within Australia. When roaming overseas, your Smart Watch eSIM Add-on will not work over the roaming network like your mobile will.

Minimum Term and Cancellation.
A minimum monthly term applies. If you add or cancel your Smart Watch eSIM Add-on mid billing cycle, you will still be required to pay for the minimum monthly term and will not be entitled to a pro-rated refund.

A. Usage and charges.
All calls or data used on your Smart Watch eSIM Add-on over the Telstra Wholesale network in Australia will count towards your mobile plan’s monthly usage and charges and will be consumed from your postpaid mobile service (Plan) inclusions.

Accordingly, if your combined usage exceeds the allowance on your Plan, you will not be able to use your Smart Watch eSIM Add-on until your Plan next resets (based on the date when you connected your primary mobile service) unless you purchase an eligible optional data or voice Add-on.

The $10 monthly charge for your Smart Watch eSIM Add-on will commence as soon as you complete your purchase and be applied to your monthly invoice for your Plan to which the Smart Watch eSIM Add-on is attached.

B. Minimum term and cancellation.
A minimum monthly term applies. The monthly charge will continue until your Smart Watch eSIM Add-on is cancelled. If your Plan or Smart Watch eSIM Add-on is cancelled partway through a month, you will be billed for the minimum monthly term for the Smart Watch eSIM Add-on and will not be entitled to a refund for an unused portion of the service for that month.

C. Your responsibilities.
It is your responsibility to ensure you have an eligible Everyday Mobile service, a compatible primary device (mobile phone) and compatible secondary device (smart watch) with selected operating systems in order to be eligible for the Smart Watch eSIM Add-on and for pairing to work. For information on eligibility and compatibility, see the Smart Watch eSIM Add-on page. If your Smart Watch eSIM Add-on is cancelled, or you move to a plan that is not an eligible Everyday Mobile Service, the paired secondary device will not be able to access the Telstra Whole mobile network anymore. It is your responsibility to ensure that you keep your secondary device secure from use by other people.

D. Cancellation or suspension.
Everyday Mobile from Woolworths reserves the right to cancel or suspend your Smart Watch eSIM Add-on if you have materially breached the terms of your Plan (including your obligations to pay). Suspension of your Plan will result in the Smart Watch eSIM add-on also being suspended. Similarly, suspension of the Smart Watch eSim Add-on will also result in your Plan being suspended. However, cancelling your Smart Watch eSIM Add-on will not affect your Plan.

E. International Roaming.
Your Smart Watch eSIM Add-on will only have mobile network connectivity within Australia. When roaming overseas, your Smart Watch eSIM Add-on will not work over the roaming network like your mobile will.

F. Functionality and Coverage.
Only one (1) smart watch can be connected to your Plan at any time.

The smart watch is not the same as a mobile phone and some network functionality is not available on these devices. Coverage availability will vary depending on your mobile device, smart watch and location. Check coverage at [https://mobile.everyday.com.au/coverage ]

G. Other terms.
The Service Terms of your primary service also apply to your use of our network on your secondary device. Please refer to the [Critical Information Summary (CIS) and the Service Terms for your Plan at https://mobile.everyday.com.au/legals.

Removing Add-on.
Removal of smart watch T&Cs.
Once you remove your Smart Watch eSIM Add-on, you will no longer be able to make or receive calls, or use data on your watch unless you are connected to a mobile phone (with mobile connectivity) via Bluetooth. You can re-connect your watch to a Smart Watch eSIM Add-on at any time in the future, provided you still meet the eligibility criteria. If you are cancelling your Smart Watch eSIM Add-on mid billing cycle, you will still be required to pay for the minimum monthly term and will not be entitled to a pro-rated refund.
